Alison Shersby: Project Manager

Alison Shersby, Project Manager

Alison joined the team as Project Manager in November 2014 after experience as a volunteer and Trustee for Growing People during the previous 3 years.

 

She brings to the role extensive experience in the charity sector including work at the Children's Society, National Autistic Society and the Wildlife Trust.

 

Su Harvey: Horticultural Therapist

Su Harvey, Horticultural Therapist

Su has 7 years experience working as a gardener in a large property in Bedfordshire and has a National Diploma in Horticulture.

 

Su renovated the Kitchen Garden in her Bedfordshire workplace and won several prizes for her vegetables at the Sandy Horticultural Show.

 

She began volunteering at Growing People in August 2010 and joined the staff team in January 2011, qualifying as a Horticultural Therapist in 2012.

Caroline Brooker, Horticultural Therapist

Caroline has a BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology and a Professional Development Diploma in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture. She started as a volunteer with Growing People in June 2010 and joined the staff team in April 2011.

 

Caroline has gained additonal experience of working with different client groups whilst managing & operating Growing People outreach programmes at the local women's resource centre and working with patients & staff at the mental health unit in a local hospital.

 

Caroline is also running a programme called 'Growing Skills' which uses social and therapeutic horticulture to focus on work related soft skills and experience, such as self-confidence, team-working and planning skills.
